Why is it...

I just can't figure it out, so I'm turning to the females here to help find the answer. Why do women wear low cut shirts that show the top half of their breasts, but seem to be offended when guys take a quick peek? I've noticed this a few times this year. It's not like I was gawking with my eyeballs hanging out, chin to the floor, and drowning her in saliva. Just a quick peek. Total peeking time of maybe a second. Next thing you know, she's tugging at the top of her shirt trying to cover them up in futility. Then comes the jacket or the sweater, and she overtly covers them up. So my question is, why dress to show them off if you don't like the attention?

I'm not a chick so I can't help you from that point of view, but I say I couldn't agree more.

Aswell they should be happy they have something to look at. If they were flat as a board it wouldn't matter if they wore no shirt us guys wouldn't look.

I love sneaking a look down the top and the roundness of breasts showing, or the flash of leg when a woman gets into or out of a car. Don't worry, keep it up.
How about at the gym when a nicely built woman is doing pec exercises?
Have a great voyeuristic season!

Yo P.B.:

Two possible reasons for the obvious "cover-up."

1. The subject wants to show 'em off, but prefers any reaction to come only from individuals who are attractive to her. Doesn't want any older fart peering at her boobs, just that cross-section she might have an interest in. We should all understand that.

2. Really DOES want to show 'em off, but is still a little self-conscious. First sign of "leering" (yeah, I know you only peeked a full second or so without your tongue licking your lips), she "folded her hand" and covers up. Particularly if you fit her model of who she'd prefer they didn't show interest.

FYI: I adore the vision of young women who dress "provocatively." (Now don't start on me about using provocation as a route word and label me as a neandrethal. It's a better description than aggressively.) I don't want to embarass the lady, nor be embarassed myself by being told "get lost" through body language. You just develop better peeking skills.

Alexandria, I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for answers. :( Sigh!

Note to self, hang out at mall more often.

Bigguy, I thought about what you said and your second point makes the most sense. I'm not old, been told I'm not hard to look at, and some of the 'subjects' have lightly flirted with me. Maybe some are self conscious.

VL, show us all now baby! And without the bra this time!

VM, wish I could visit Italy. Sounds very interesting. Maybe sometime later.

Here
It is cultural

...in Brazil, if you DON'T leer at a low cut top, she will turn around and walk past closer. If that doesn't work, you can get a slap and be called "gay boy". Leering is an expected part of the culture and the wooing process.

What I dislike in Canada is all the bulging bellies showing on young women who need a few sit ups added to their morning ritual of pop tarts and fruit loops.
