watching the detroit edmonton game and the fucking refs are only calling penalties against Edmonton ... mike peca gets tripped by draper in full view of the refs, no call and shanahan scores ...

ryan smythe looks at that ass-fukker chelios and he falls down and smythe gets a penalty!

the carolina montreal game was just as bad ... the carolina players were doing 'brokeback mountain' on montreal and not one fucking penalty!

its bad enough those loser americans get the easy schedules but if the only way they can win in the playoffs is by bad refs then this game is a total waste of time.

ps: someone should break their stick on chelios's fukkin' mouth ... that cocksucker!

Just as in any sport. Fans are happy when their team is winning or wins. When they lose, there is always a contributing factor, other than the team.
I love the Wings, but when they lose, it's their fault.
Maybe had the sun rose 3 minutes sooner, on a windy day, while three birds chirped, and the paper was delivered to the door, not the step, and the coffee had been warmer, while you wore fuzzy slippers, the end result of the game, may have been different.

I'm just sick of all the fucking late regulation and OT penalties.

Used to be unless a player got hauled down on a legit scoring chance or took a stick to the face and bled like a stuck pig, there were no powerplays in OT, and that's the way it should be. Now an incidental trip in the neutral zone will get you 2:00 and just as likely cost you the game.

Of course, the officials are just pawns at the will of that sawed off half-pint cocksucker Bettman. How that shit for brains is still at the helm of the NHL is anyone's guess. He should have been summarily fired (out of a cannon preferably) the moment that season was officially cancelled last year. But, no, his reign continues and his principal concern seems to be to make hockey as fun and accessible as possible for all those non-fans in the non-hockey markets the majority of whom don't know what "icing" means.

Used to be the game was over after the 2nd period and we would watch a boring third while arguing about Brett's foot in the crease or the ref's putting the whistle away. Now..come backs and watching till the end is the name of the game. I like the skill over the hacks anyday. YMMV

it is entertaining until the muggings start (along with elbows and high sticks) and some 'stars' (since when is Chelios a star???) get away with murder!

there was a good write up on this in the Van Sun (saturday) -- same topic ... where's the consistency.
