Where is a good place in Vancouver to get a wheel alignment done and what's a reasonable price for this service?

These guys have been in business since 1969. Sketchy neighbourhood but you can probably find a $20 bj within 5 blocks while you get your car fixed. An old friend of mine used to be the head shop inspector for ICBC. He swore by these guys and they did some excellent work a few years ago on a couple of vintage cars for me.

I agree with cadman on this one,known these guys for 30 years. Cost around $40 for 2 wh and $80 for 4 wh.

Have gone to them for years, with cabs and limos. Quick, good rates and no up sell. Also good prices on tires.

Have used West Coast, but find it can be a bit of a bitch trying to get in there sometimes. He does all the cop cars and other city vehicles and they get priority.

And generally, what causes the need for a wheel alignment? Just regular wear and tire / maintenance or is it just when you hit a big pothole or curb?
