What is your favorite type of wine?

I recently started to get a taste for wine after hating it for years...

Tokaji the ice wine that got me semi in love with the taste...

Im not much for super stong or bitter I love the sweet but the $100.00 price tag is kind of a killer on my fave...

Any suggestions????

The best wine I have enjoyed was one my father made.....no grapes were used...he made birch sap wine( a white obviously).....it was incredible....absolutely no sediment and it has a crisp sharp taste....about a medium for sweetness.....and it was crystal clear.

Runner up for his creations was the Mead he made with 8 gallons of liquid honey.....I think that stuff was 40% and it hit you like a cannonball.

Chateau Calon Segur but BCLDB doubles the price of everything so I just buy a case in France, import to Alberta and then forward to here. Costs $27/bottle as compared to $80-125 a bottle. Awesome wine

Jesus, that IS a good deal on an exceptional "Third Growth" Bordeaux! These wines still need some time in the bottle after their release to develop to their full potential like at least 5 years and up to 20, but at that price, it's a steal! Probably best to decant it about 2 hours before drinking it if it's the 2009 you're going to crack open and make sure to have it with something bold like a prime rib steak topped with blue cheese and a shallot red wine demi and maybe some fries with white truffle oil.
