you were the one person in the world, that would be given one chance to go back to anytime in history, where would you go,and why ?

Two stipulations:
1 ) You cannot/will not be able to affect the event in any way.

2 ) You will be able to record for the world to see whatever you saw or experienced.

Personally, I would want to go back to see Jesus crucified and see if he actually rose from the dead. If it happened as is believed then the bible thumpers have validity, if it did not happen then maybe it will get them out of our daily lives.

Hmm, first thing that comes to mind is seeing Constantinople fall to the Turks. That's probably because I once read a book where a guy basically got to do exactly what you're describing, and that was his choice. The second thing that comes to mind is I'd like to go and watch the Battle of Thermopylae to see how much the numerical disparity between the Greeks and the Persians was exaggerated. I'd also love to observe the Battle of Hastings, or the Battle of Agincourt... Dang, too many historical turning points to choose from...

...

can't say to much...

because I'm in the midst of a self-imposed exile from PERB...

this question got me thinking about wormholes as conjectured by various theoretical physicists...

the distinction between the past, present and future is only an illusion...

It wouldn't work to convince them. The best you would be able to record is nothing happening. How would you know where to look? Or exactly when? If you found a likely candidate being nailed up, how would you know it was the one they wrote about many decades later? The Bible thumpers would say you weren't in the right place. "That particular guy being nailed up isn't Jesus...he looks like a balding little dark guy." A lack of something on film wouldn't convince them at all.

I would research a good specific date and club location when the John Coltrane Quartet gave a legendary concert, take in the show, and bring back the recording for everyone else to enjoy. No blood stuff for me.

isn't that freaky? your two first choices were ones that i was thinking of as well. but i was going to add something a little more modern as well. san fransico in the mid to late 60's, studio 54 in new york late 70's, los angeles in the 70's or jimi hendrix at monterrey or isle of white.

too bad i was born late in them cause the 70's just seem like an awesome time to have lived and partied in.

i would go back not to far but i think the early 1990 to see The Tea Party, one of my favorite bands play when they started. Also to see Stabbing Westward play again. if i went back farther it would to see more bands like the Doors and Jimi and all the great music back then, with lots of drugs:) :D and Kurt kobain? think that is how you spell it

1) Genghis Khan, Malcolm X and Che Guevara

2) All three led extraordinary lives.
