What about the "No Mention List"?

I'm surprised that, in the controversial "No Review List", no one has brought up the issue of the (small) number of escorts who don't even want their names to be mentioned on PERB. It seems the board's owners comply with such wishes, and i don't understand why.

It's well known that the mere mention of a certain Winnipeg escort's name by veteran members is grounds for a ban from PERB (newer members get off wirh a deletion and a warning). Also, there's an infamous Toronto escort (R.....) whose name must not be mentioned on TERB. She's obviously not an advertiser there, and her personal web site reveals her to be extremely full of herself. She's gorgeous, intelligent, discriminating, well-educated, sexy and her shit doesn't stink! She also hasn't aged at all in at least the past six years! (26 and holding) :p .

Why do PERB/TERB/MERB allow escorts to have a "Do Not Mention My Name" policy?

It is not for us to question why, it is for us to do or die, something like that.

Um, Avery, do you mean Les? I wonder if she writes off her legal bills.

I can understand why the DNR list but a No Mention list is weird...... I do not get why someone in the public service industry would go to such lengths.....And although you are a bitter and angry person most SP's are still considered to be servicing a segment of the public...

I can understand a lady not wishing to be reviewed or mentioned. Yes they do provide a service to "the public" but so do alot of us and we are not subject to review boards. While in a business where word of mouth may not be an effective marketing tool, the review may help some, but it may pose a risk to others. We must remember that as liberal as we may all be, there is a vast segment of society that looks upon "pooning" negatively. Many SP's have families, kids, friends who do not want to know what they are doing and fear any publicity may "out" them. Then there is the entire subject of reporting income referred to in another thread. Sure lots of SP's declair some income but there are lots who do not. They are just a phone call away from some one with an axe to grind, causing them a problem with CRA. If their name (even if it is an alias) is all over a review board that could do nothing but harm. If I was an SP (LOL) I don't think I'd like to be talked about all over a review board.
I think we all need to respect their wishes. We spend a few hours a year with these ladies. We certainly don't own them.

You are correct with this......and I don't recall mentioning anything about owning anyone. I have no problem with DNR lists as long as they are posted. No Mention lists.......I don't know. It seems odd to me to have one individual force thier will on an entire portion of the public. Even if they may work in a different enviroment than most. If they don't want to be mentioned at all perhaps no advertising at all would be the order of the day for these certain individuals. Avery made mention of a certain SP on the Terb board that goes nuts at the mention of her name at all yet she has a publicly viewable website advertising her services........kinda knocks her off my no mention list.......

Only a thought. Write-offs are good to have in any business. Money to make money right? People are curious, we ask questions and maybe we learn something. Nothing complicated or mysterious going on here... I hope.

Rational thought

When I first learned of escort review boards I was mortified. The thought of a private action, what I used to think was a private action, publicized without my knowledge! Damn, I was floored. Anyway, after awhile I got up, and thought, well, on goes the show... and so it goes... que sera.

Publicizing the DNM list makes it kind of useless doesn't it? Sort of the same as a DNR list. Can't we just leave it be? I don't know who is on those lists or why, I'm sure they have good reasons. Sex workers have to use their intuition all the time, can our clients do the same?

Publishing a do not mention list, unlike a do not review list, would defeat the purpose of it agreed.

And I can think of a number of reasons why a lady would not want her working name mentioned at all ... but I can't for the life of me think of how that would apply to SP's that have web pages, photo's and are advertising on the internet. ;)

It may seem that way, but what if a newbie posts such a name and has his/her post deleted and he/she is not told why?

Exactly! I never review or even mention the names of escorts who don't advertise, but if they put their working names out in the public eye, why can't we?

From what I've discovered, unmentionable = gem

So let me rephrase the question. How many unmentionables are there out there? How many are indy? Which particular AMPs do they work ? :D :D

This may be redundant, but you're asking about "unmentionables" so I imagine this is a rhetorical question.
Am I correct?

Wait, I'm so silly, you'll get pm's from the men who frequent the AMP's. Good on ya, AH.
