It has come to my attention that men are becoming victims of date rape drugs as part of ongoing robbery schemes in both civi bars and show lounges.... men are drugged, lead out of the bar, taken somewhere and then threatened or coerced into giving money or sharing their banking passwords....
I have spoken to the managers of the show lounges so staff are aware of the issue and looking out for "intoxicated" men who maybe vulnerable to robbery.
These are some safety tactics which most women know about but reports of recent incidents involving men made me post this warning...
NEVER leave your drink unattended unless being watched by someone you know and trust
NEVER accept an already open drink from someone unless you know them
NEVER turn your back on your drink
NEVER flash a wad of cash in the bar
NEVER tell people how much money you have in the bank or in general
Always try to go out with a friend so you can watch each others backs and if that is not possible, then pay close attention to the rules set out above.
please be careful, this is the holiday party season and many of you will be in situations where you are vulnerable to these crimes.
