Vancouver Neighborhood Info?

Hello,

I'm going to be in Vancouver in a few weeks, and was thinking of staying at the Ramada at Kingsway at Tyne Street. Is this a safe neighborhood? I'll be coming from NYC so I'm always wary of neighborhoods (probably TOO wary!)

If there's a better hotel/area in the Burnaby area, any suggestions?

The good thing about this Ramada is that it's right near Great Pharoah.

Neighbourhood is working/lower middle class, but quite safe. In the evening, you see lots of regular people going for walks, getting groceries etc. Lots of traffic on Kingsway at most hours of the day and night.

it's only a 5 minute walk to micro central.....can't get any better than that

Thanks to all who gave me advice, this isn't the way it is back here in New England!!!

Anyway, I've decided to stay up near Hastings Park and the PNE. I'll be in that area on the Sat. and Sun. I'll be there anyway. The room rate is only about five bucks higher.
