If you think Vancouver has the worst drivers, you haven't watched enough Russian dash cam videos... Vancouver drivers are pretty bad though.

Get the one that takes a picture front and rear and also runs when you are parked. My car seems to be a magnet for people that can't park their car. Also had a very senior driver back into me at Willingdon and Hastings, they were across the crosswalk when the light changed and decided to back up. No camera and it would have been "he rear ended me".

So many people running red lights or not even stopping at Stop Signs has been a huge problem lately.

Some days, I will travel through three or four municipalities and have had near misses each day. Particularly of concern is going south on Granville St and having an SUV go flying through the Stop Sign and going straight for the furthest lane. It's like they see the stop sign and hit the gas and nearly hitting half a dozen cars on the way to the fast lane. Scary shit!

When I'm in South America i pray every time I get into a car , then when I come back to van I appreciate driving in here.
I think Jamaica was my scariest country I have ever experienced
I rather drive in here where people let you in politely when you merge in , other countries you have to scratch up your car no other choice they would not let you in otherwise.
Also toward pedestrians in here cars are very curious , other countries Europe and South America you can wear the shortest mini skirt and they would run you over,
You only know this if you are well travelled :)

Sure there are lots of scary places to drive :nod:

Montreal can be unnerving to the unknowing. New Zealand's country roads have some incredibly aggressive drivers and if you are unaccustomed to driving in the left hand lane it will give you a friken heart attack when heading into a round about. Jakarta is insane and not a wise move to drive there yourself and its best to hire taxi's, tuk tuk's etc. Bangkok is another insane place to drive too.

But, the original post is about the bat shit crazy drivers in the GVRD.

USA and Canada are still the best places for easy driving.
I have not seen the world of course but from exp Bangkok, China, Mexico, Russia are all not suitable for drivers used to driving here.

There is/was a show in Discovery hosted by Andrew Younghusband called Don't Drive Here. In this case, the host (who also hosts Canada's Worst Driver) goes to some cities around the world and tries to drive like locals do. Based on what is show, it can be quite scary!

I believe the problem with Vancouver drivers is because of foreign immigrants. Don't get me wrong, I am not being racists here: rather it is because of people moving here have different concept of rules of the road. And that is a recipe for disaster.

I gotta agree. Vancouver drivers are bad but take ANY driver from this city to someplace like Rome or Delhi and they wouldn't last a minute.

I laugh at those stoplight to stoplight speeders. I drive like a normal person and get passed by Indy 500 drivers and too often they let it ripped to be stopped by the same red light I coasted to. Nice, you burn it up for what? Get to the red light faster? Nit wits!

And if you are going to be an idiot in a car , why not do it in a motorcycle so when you crash it makes for better entertainment.
