What area of town? For DT I rather like the Lion's Head Pub. Even the Jolly Taxpayer is okay.

I'd recommend Subeez on Smithe & .... Homer?

It's casual, no dress code, lively, has some pretty cool music, and a great bar for all kinds of drinks. My friends & I always go. The menu, if you're hungry, it decent too.

try the bayside lounge on the corner of denman and davie ... especially at sunset.

or the other standards ...

yaletown brew pub ...

kingston taphouse and grill (on richards between georgia and robson) ...

nelson cafe it is kind of a cool dive bar near nelson and granville, but it is always full with a hip crowd on weekends ...

bridges on granville island ...

there is so many places ...

Obviously you did not hear about the Jolly closing at the end of December, I have a couple of souvenirs from closing day unfortunatly neither of them is Renee. Most everyone has moved to Smiley's on Pender, but it is very noisy and crowded.
