Tracks?

For those of us from the Boonies - I read about the "hi-track", "mid-track" and the "low-track" in these posts.
I assume these are actual areas in "The Big City" but I'm not familiar with them. The only SW area I have ever found is between Hastings & Cordova for the 10 blocks or so west of Clark.
Am I looking/cruising the wrong areas? "Seasoned PERBs" please help! I am planning a visit soon.
