I went ant saw the new movie .. and i liked it .. better made then the old one and more over blown too ..

Considering it was made by the director of Underworld .. it had the same feel ..it all so had so many elements from many other SF movies ..
Some critics have all ready said that the future shown was like Blade runner .. and Majority report .. Definitely saw the influence and maybe the director wanted to pay homage to both and the writer that wrote all three stories ..

Now here are some thought s , not so much on the movie but the cast and story .. Though you all may think Colin Farrel was the star i think it was Kate Blankinsale that stood out.. after all she is the directors wife .. So here is my thought Why did the director not make a true departure from the original story .. and make Kate Blankenship the Karl Hauser or Karla Hauser .. in a lesbian relationship with Biel ..

Now i am not sure which way that should of gone .. If it would be in here alternate life as Quade or her real life as Hauser .. I think her real life as Hauser and have Farrel as her make believe boy friend .. then i would under stand the antagonism in the hunt .It would of really made a different story .. the rest could of been a very interesting story ..

if there's no kuato, i have no interest in watching this re-hash. some movies don't need to be remade, and this was one of them.

One has to remember that the Arnold version was significantly different from the Phillip K. Dyck story that formed the core for the screenplay and that the current version is closer to it. That said, neither are particularly great movies, just studio actioners rolled off the assembly line.
+1.. I also can't figure out how Biel or Beckinsale still manage to find work. Yes, there both hottish (IMHO and before the yelling starts) but neither has done anything memorable and are easily replaceable with some other actress.

Bryan Cranston deserves better than this garbage and should choose more wisely before signing on to these films.

I cant speak of the story the movie was derived from as I haven't read it. However I would like to point out that the large majority of action movies are never going to be "great" movies, they generally only aspire to be great action movies; in which the original Total Recall was a pretty good action flick. An example of an action movie which deserves to be spoken of with apathy (which is what you've done here) or even disdain is something like Last Action Hero.

You cant judge all movies by the same criteria, some are meant to be entertaining fluff.
