Thoughts While Driving Across the Prairies...

Hardatwork

I recently had the privilege of driving across the prairies and as with most long drives had a few thoughts run through my head. Anyone have any similar musings?

• If the low cost of flying compared with the high cost of drop off fees for out of province rental cars is negligible, why didn’t I fly?
• In a game of chicken between my car and poor helpless prairie dogs, the prairie dog wins every time.
• Snow covered fields at night during a full moon look like the ocean when you’re driving by at 120 km/ hour
• Everyone does 10 km/h over the speed limit.
• I get excited when I see “wild” animals like deer, but could care less if I see a cow.
• Driving during the winter is far easier on the windshield (bugs) than the summer.
• I should have flown.
• Prairie people are so accommodating and friendly.
• I hate when towns are right on the Hwy and you have to slow from 110 km/h to 60.
• A&W’s and Subways are everywhere.
• It’s debateable whether toasted tastes better.
• Buying new CD’s are good for a long trip but it’s still necessary to have one familiar CD to sing along with.
• Bono’s voice is starting to go.
• Seeing a single duck flying by makes me feel sad and guilty for eating duck.
• Hmmm duck tastes good.
• I miss the sight of mountains in the horizon.
• Most prairie highway drivers faithfully follow the “keep to the right except to pass” rule.
• When someone is consistently half a klick behind you, it feels like they’re riding your ass.
• I’m a wimp without cruise control.
• I should have flown.

"Thoughts about driving across the prairies"

Well I would suggest blasting on the music super loud. I was always worried about literally falling asleep when faced with mile after countless mile of boring road.
