And I understand your last post. Money talks. Not so much special treatment, but if a group of contributors said "hey fred, we think the no review list should be made available to solve the reviews getting pulled issue", or "fred, we don`t like the mystery bannings and we think it should be policy that the offender is informed of why, so it doesn`t happen again", I would think it would carry more weight then if a single poster, who is not putting up the cash to be here complains or has an issue with something about the board. That`s not to say that a group of contributors would get everything they ask for, but their requests would most likely be more seriously considered.

THX Maury .... but .... how do we make a REVIEW board that removes reviews ... especially the bad (but true) ones???
Soon, we will not differ from advertising in the newspaper.
"Come and see .... all for $$$", just to discover that there is nothing to see, and the amout is different too.

BOBST, I agree that we should help paying bills .... but I guess, you missed my poll from about 15months ago, where 90% !!!!!!!! of viewers said, they would not participate. 90%!!!!!!!!!!!! would not even pay 1$ a month.
And, helping paying the bills will not give you voting power on how to run this board. Think of PERB as a newspaper. You place your ad, and a bunch of ........ (enter your own descriptions of writers ) are writing articles. Same here

And soon, if things will not change for better, this board will be like a newspaper. Lots of ads, and lots of positive reviews.

I guess, you forgot the post from FredZ about a year ago, when he shut down access to review forum to unregistered users. He said... his advertising income from PERB is marginal.... MARGINAL.

I have a different analogy as it pertains to this board.

Think of PERB as a newspaper.

Think of it as a small nation or kingdom. When it is founded, it is full of idealism and the promise of a bright future. Other than the occasional flare-ups, everybody seems to be happy. However, over time, there are more and more migrants, and the population swells to the point where there is a growing need for policing and "moderation". Laws are created to plug loopholes, and to control erratic and sometimes un-predictable behaviour. Conformism overpowers individuality and it just loses its innocence that made it such a neat place to begin with. Such is the price of success, and with Fred's need to extract a measure of profit from his investment, the board becomes a colder place than it once was. Still, for me anyway, it's nice to see guys like you still around trying to re-kindle the warmth that once was.

As for the removal of reviews, well, that's up to the discretion of Administration, and all the complaining in the world is not going to alter their thinking, neither their objectives. When you think of it, what like-minded board doesn't follow similar principles, when it serves their prurient interests?

Yes... some of us remember the early days .... some remember the day one (Kev, Blowhard, etc)
As many of you know, my area of interest here is only The Lounge. Was, and is for a long time. But The Lounge is part of PERB, and PERB was created as a review board. What value has a review board that will not keep ALL REVIEWS. Good AND bad ( assuming they are true reviews ).
Do you see value in such a board? If you don't, and if many of the members will feel the same, than they will turn to other sources. Once they will turn to other sources, the advertisers will see that their advertising dollars do not pay off here, so they will stop paying. Once they will stop paying .....
Looks like Catch 22.
Is there a way out?
Is there a possibility to keep honest reviews AND keep advertisers happy?

Actually everest,,,I like it when some people put some things in bold and/or large letters,,,it kinda puts an explanation mark on somethings,that,,and it make's it a little easier to read
