Over the past few days I’ve binged on this series. Not because I enjoyed it; quite the contrary, I found it to be quite disturbing. I’ve never really considered the deep roots of the evangelicals in the US, only considered them to be those who have only one set of values without considering how to have a middle ground.

This series is quite disturbing in that the deep roots within the US Govt clearly shows there is no separation of church and state. One episode closed the loop with Russia and its collusion to put #45 in the White House. During a prayer breakfast in Moscow, Putin also pledged his support of the evangelicals visiting Moscow. I always thought the reason for #45’s deference to Moscow has to do more with the money laundering via Russian Oligarchs. Maybe so but the ‘Family’ enabled this tie to the RNC and #45.

Every President since Eisenhower has made there way to the White House via ‘The Family’. This includes all Democratic presidents too.

Yes it is disturbing.
In a country where there is supposed to be a line between church and state the church has a ridiculous amount of power.
A large segment of the population are religious fanatics so this is no surprise.
