The Big Re-install!!! XP Style

Yes, it came down to this. I have been having a lot trouble with my computer lately. I could not figure out what it was. Therefore I decided to clean everything off both my hard drives and do a re-install of XP Home edition.
So, now I am at the point where I have to re-install all the porgrams and try to recover what I had.
I lost all the music and videos I had.
I also have to try and remember all the web sites I had bookmarked.
But, the first site I go back to was Perb. Ha HA
Now my machine runs faster.I have the chance to organize things better and set up my Hard drives in a better way.

At least it was raining all weekend!!!

i've had to do this at least three times in the past year ... for all the 'improvements' in XP (LOL ... i crack myself up!) the bloody program is still more shit than necessity.

and it is the better part of an all weekend event too ...

but at least i save everything on discs so the pain is not too bad.

you can get more speed out of xp by shutting a bunch of the garbage programs off ... starting with the 'system restore' ... check out blackviper for lots of hints about saving memory.

On a related comp topic I'm having trouble with video playing to slow. And the stupid thing is it seems to be only video encoded with low audio sampling rates.

cd quality 44.1 plays fine. Drop to 32,000khz and below and it's a 50/50 chance for some stupid reason that video will play at 1/2 speed. This makes streaming video botchy as fukk.

Hitrack, did you recently update any of your drivers. I once updated my Radeon card and some of my porn no longer played properly . Had to go to www.driverguide.com and find an old driver.

I feel your pain! I am also wanting to do a 60/40 on this damn machine. So tomorrow it is stripped completely and reformatted. I get so pissed when this happens. So much for spyware, popup blockers, etc. They seem to be useless...

Ah fukk son there's so many drivers in my system it'd make a nun shit 'er pants. ATI AIW vid card, multiple file players, codecs outta my ass, etc..... Who knows. The problem is minor and not worth formatting....yet any ways.
