I got a email supposedly from Fred saying that Terb had been hacked. Had me going for a second so quickly checked the Terb site and found this posted.

Ignore e-mail claiming terb was hacked

We were never hacked and the e-mail is not from me ( almost certainly they are being sent by the owner of another board ) so delete it, and there is no other action required on your part.

While encrypted user data (read: your stored passwords for the site was not stolen, the intruders did take Terb account email addresses, password reminders, server per user salts, and authentication hashes. The latter is what’s used to tell Terb that you have permission to access your account.

Looks almost identical to the email I got.

I am taking it as a scam email and not that the hack actually happened. The above was posted by a Moderator.

Just thought I would throw it out there since its seems to have made its way to Perb so anyone girls or guys that got or get the same email don't get freaked out as I did for a second or two and start deleting like a madman lol. And also to allow a perb mod confirm that its a prank.

Cheers all. XOXOXO Riza

There's a board owner out east who has nothing better to do than prank people. If you registered for the board, Ontario based, he's got your email address and sent that out to many people as some kind of a joke. I have been in contact with Fred Zed and confirmed there was no hack and he never sent any email.

Here's the header info:

Received: from mail.**********.cc (mail.**********.cc. [93.190.143.15])

Received-SPF: softfail (google.com: domain of transitioning chaseadmin@**********.cc does not designate 93.190.143.15 as permitted sender) client-ip=93.190.143.15;
Authentication-Results: mx.google.com;
spf=softfail (google.com: domain of transitioning chaseadmin@**********.cc does not designate 93.190.143.15 as permitted sender) smtp.mailfrom=chaseadmin@**********.cc;

Chase admin is the board owner I was mentioning. Anything you post or put on his website is fair game, there's no privacy there. Why he thinks this is entertaining is beyond imagination.

Id be more worried about terb having real information. I know too many people who get their emails hacked because of password repetition

To clarify. Terb was NOT hacked. Chase, the admin of another SP board in Ontario, sent this email to broad swaths of his own members, most/many of whom are also members of TERB. As the board admin/owner, he has your email address if you signed up there. Do NOT use the same password for the review boards you frequent and you will be fine. If you use the same password on that board and PERB or TERB, he may be able to hack/hijack your account. I would urge the same caution with the Alberta board, or any other board, use different passwords/emails.
