I was checking a weather forecast on my sister's computer this weekend and noticed it running real slow. I ran Spybot S&D and Adaware and got this Ibis Toolbar that neither could get rid of. I didn't have time to play around with this much, but when I googled "Ibis Toolbar" I found out it's a fairly nasty hijacker that's going to take a lot of work to get rid of. Anybody know any programs that would kill this, and aren't to difficult to use (my sister isn't the most computer literate, and I only know how to turn the computer off and on, then find dirty pictures online.)

Spyware Doctor will get rid of it, but you have to pay for it.

It still took ages for me to get rid of IBIS Toolbar, though, and even after many e-mail exchanges with their tech support people, I ended up getting rid of it by accident. They couldn't help me. SD would detect the presence of IBIS, but wouldn't remove it.

I have two user profiles on my office computer. One day, I was logged on as the other user, and ran Spyware Doctor. Lo and behold, this time it removed IBIS. It seems that you can only remove IBIS when you're logged on under the profile you were using when your computer became infected with it in the first place.
