tax question

i bought an item for the US and paid $25 for gst/pst when it was delivered and now
have to return it ...

is there anyway to get the $25 back or is it gone forever?

Dreaming in technicolour is defined by thinking you will get sales tax monies back from the government. But who knows? If you have the original receipt that identifies the taxes paid on a specific imported item, then, once you have the return receipt from the original exporter, you could go to the CRA office on Pender and talk to a GST person there - they just might have a form! As for the RST/PST, you can call Victoria on toll-free and ask.

its starting to sound like $50 work of work to get screwed in the end anyway ...
