What's kind of funny is that while I was reading it I thought wtf can this journalist who write this not write properly and clearly? It's really confusing in some parts. But anyway, eventually I got it fine. Lol Then I got near the end and read this part:
And I thought, 'OK seriously, who the f*** is the twit who wrote this article?!.' ...
I scrolled up and then I saw it was Christie Blatchord and that explained it all. Lol
It's not any more dangerous or scary for girls now. There's always been raped and there's always been alcohol and people who blackout and have no memory of it the next day. The whole date rape drug exists, yes, but the difference isn't that the danger is new, the difference is that women had to keep it a secret and if only a small percentage of women who are raped report it now, it was a tiny fraction of that before. Women who knew they'd been out and drinking also knew they'd be blamed for it and be told they'd asked for it, sent the wrong message.. That the man would be excused etc.. Of course these things still happen but a lot less and theoretically most law enforcement professionals, especially those who work with victims of sexual assault don't treat women that way and people who do, although still too numerous, are usually called out as ignorant sexist and misogynist. Maybe one day we won't have to call out anyone but it's still better than having to put up with that mentality because it's the norm!
And I just had to roll my eyes at her shock that OMG some men like threesomes, OMG some men have threesomes regularly, like to film it and as she clutches her pearls with horror on her face,... Omfg some women consent (I don't think her brain has allowed her to go as far as to consider that 'some women' not only consent but actually do so because.... Wait for it.... They actually enjoy it too! Lol)
I mean, how annoying is that attitude. What a doorknob. And one who can't even write either. Sheesh.
