I don't really understand stalking,

I remember the one time, I had a fight with my sp,
I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of caring.

I think the best revenge is to have a good life somewhere else with someone else.
we made up me and her after a hiatus of six months or so

I was sitting in a bar crying in my beer after being stood up,
telling her I was stood up, and if you would only see me again,
and surprise surprise she said come on over,

but seriously today if a wife of 40 years and an sp of a dozen both said fuck you were down
I would move on. it wouldn't bother me.
I know who I am,
know I have loved and been loved,
and know it will happen again,

I know what I have done and haven't done,
if some one doesn't want me in there life, its funny but im ok with it,

forcing your self into someones life,
is not normal is not healthy,
if your doing it you need to seek help,

crossing someone's boundaries,
is immoral and possible illegal

not in any stretch of the imagination is it right,

I get the impression that stalking is a thing for obsessive, controlling personalities who feel they've not got the "respect" and/or "explanation" they feel they are due. Basically you're not done until they say so.

Mental illness combined with loneliness, perhaps?

Stalking is usually attached to some part of mental illness. You can see the attribute in a number of disorders - OCD, Depression, Personality Disoder and schizophrenia.

If someone senses they have a stalker, it's a good idea to document the when, where and frequency of noticing the potential stalker. Getting it on file with a combination of local police and mental health is better than just going to the local PD. If Mental Health has a file on a potential stalker, they know how to involve Police. Most Cops don't have the bandwidth to deal with this issue unless it's a 911 call which is usually way too late.
