Spelling Does Count

We've discussed on and off the subject of spelling on this board and while most agree that just because it's an electronic forum proper spelling should still be used. Some people disagree and hey it's their right to be wrong

But WEBMASTERS PLEASE can you try and edit your work???

If I was paying for a website for my business you'd be damn sure that I'd be taking a long time to pay my webmaster's bill.

Well Jim,I do try and spell correctly ,and use proper grammer as much as possible,but!!!!being computer illiterate and not knowing how to make this piece of shit work half the time,,I just wing it,,,,,and I think 98 % of the guys and gals here can understand me when I post.
Maybe if I had a better looking english teacher in school I might have payed a little more attention.

To spell or not to spell ..

How do you spell ..spell If you ever really think about how words in the english languge sound ..and then how we spell them it does not make cents ( yes that is wrong but it sounds the same)

Now I am one of the bad spellers you will find on this board or any .. Why because my brain works visually ( i should be good at chines,,its a picture languge) and i only can spell because i remember how the word looks . The more i use words the better i get at spelling .of cource i have to spell it right in the first place.< and I will use my dick.. to check some big words ...but when i am on a verbaul roll i can't take the time , or i will loss my train of thought.
When your in the heat of F**king the right words help ...but you don't have to spell them.

Problem is, where in the contract would it include grammatical accuracy? I think most of these places either make the websites themselves or just don't want to have to go through every page to ensure the person they hired to make a visually stunning web site has used adequate grammar. And some people (I think the technical term is Philistines) don't care about grammar.

Whenever I notice a grammtical error, I'll usually contact the establishment and discretely mention the error and the appropriate correction. I feel much more comfortable entering a place that has the appropriate usage of an apostrophe. Not that I'm Bueller the Angry Flower or anything.

For the lexicologically impared, I recommend onelook.com. A handy desk reference is the Canadian Press Caps and Spelling Guide. For all you webmasters out there who don't know the difference between its and it's or there, their, and they're, I recommend an editor.
