Am I the only one out there who thinks the Karr/JonBenet media circus has gotten a little bit out of hand?

I had CNN on for a couple of hours yesterday, and that's all they talked about (guess there was nothing else happening in the world today) as they showed the same video clips over and over again and interviewed every authority figure and egghead short of Britney Spears. And now there's even some book deals being floated around too by anyone with any peripheral involvement in this debacle.

Thank God for remote controls, eh?

Pretty much sums it up.....the media adage of "if it bleeds it leads" is as true as ever

I like how his mom and sister were first to that trough.....by all accounts they had nothing to do with that creepy fucker but all of a sudden they're selling book/movie rights to "pay for a vigorous defense"....how the hell do you defend someone who's either guilty by their own admission or are so detached from reality they're trying to take credit for a crime they didn't commit

Whew! Thank heavens things returned to normal today. A number of planes diverted to cities other than their destination because of the (as it turned out imagined ... go figure) threat that there might be terrorists on board. Lots of compelling footage of planes parked on runways. I could hardly tear my eyes away from the screen.

Welcome to the world of 24 hour news stations. When you have that much airtime to fill, you need to flog every news story like a dead horse until you've bored everyone to tears and they have all completely lost interest in the story. The first day the story broke it was mildly interesting and worth a few minutes to hear what they had to say. Now as soon as his creepy mug appears on the TV I change the channel, wtf do I care what he ate on the plane from Thailand or how many times he took a dump that day.

I don't watch much TV news except the news breaks that come on during shows. I Prefer newpapers that way you can skip over and ignore the repetative news stories.

CNN have been advertising that this Sept 11 they'll be airing the complete rebroadcast of 01-Sept-11.....I don't know if I'm more disapointed in them for doing it or myself because I'm probably going to record/watch it

You can share the disappoint equally, gravitas. And what a lovely (searches in vain for the smiley face that indicates "dripping with sarcasm way more than the roll your eyes smiley face connotes") five year tribute to 9/11. I'm sure some other network will feel the need to one up CNN by offering previously unbroadcast footage of people leaping out of windows of the Twin Towers before they collapsed.
