Miami BABY!!!!
I know this topic is a touchy one, but I wanted to share my opinnion on the matter.

Let me start off with saying that I go and get tested for everything every 6 months. I just got back from receiving my test results, and I am happy to report that all is exactly how it should. NEGATIVE.

I was talking to the nurse for a while, and after telling her about my practices in the hobby, she told me something that I found really disturbing.

As all of you in the captial region know, there is a Syphillis outbreak in Edmonton. The nurse told me that she personally had treated about 10 cases or so. Out of those 10 cases, all of them where either SP's or men that have seen SP's. So I asked if she knew what kind of SP's these were? Her reply was kind of disturbing again. She said that out of the SP's that she treated 3 of them were massage parlour attendants, and the others where SW's.

Now, I can't tell you if this nurse was feeding hot air up my ass, but I just thought I would pass this info to you all.

She also told me that capital health estimates that there will be atleast 5-10 reported more cases before years end.

Like I said, this is what the nurse told me, I don't know if she was just trying to scare me or what, but take this info and do what you want with it. I just thought I would pass it on.

Oh yeah and I have a question, should I get vaccinated for Hep B? I am thinking about it and the nurse recomended it. What do you all think?

till next time...

I could be wrong about this...but SPs who test positive either get their escort revoked or they're unable to renew it. But I do know that STD testing is a requirement for a license.

STD testing is not a requirement to get your license in Alberta. I believe it's required in Ontario, but not here. Keep this in mind gentlemen!! I'm not sure if an SP would have her licensed revoked, but even if she did, who knows how long she could have been infected before being tested. Not all SP's or clients are as safety conscious as some of us.
Hep shots are recommended to anyone who works in close contact to others. Nurses, doctors, child care workers, SP's, etc. If you are involved on either side of this industry, it's definitely a good idea for all of us to get vaccinated.
And, as always... play safe everyone. I can't stress this enough. Most of my clients are aware that I've tightened the rope a little on services offered and 95% have been supportive, understanding and respectful. It's always risky, but we can keep the risk to a minimum if we are careful.

I'm not absolutely sure that STD testing is required in Ontario, but it was mentioned(friend of a friend) a while back and stuck out in my mind. I completely agree with you though... it's something that should be implemented in Alberta IMHO.
However, I realize that some may feel this is a violation of their privacy. I respect that opinion, but I think that there are requirements for any job that you work in and health seems a reasonable requirement for this one.

It's definitly too bad that STD testing is not mandatory. I wonder if the individual owners of studios have any type of mandatory schedule for their girls to get tested? Or do the girls just go whenever they feel like?

How about us pooners, how often do the guys get tested. I personally go atleast every 6 months if not sooner.

I think in Las Vegas they require STD testing every month or something. The openess and the fact that prostitution is 100% legal there allows for that.
Actually, prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. It is legal in the neighbouring counties, but not in Clark County.
