Shiloh - scene and noted
I spoke with Shiloh last Saturday, Aug 15, 2009. Sorry for the delay. She is taking a break for again for a while to try to get things back in order and to recuperate. She is doing fine though and staying with her mom. I’ll try to contact her this week.
This business can be very tough for some girls and sadly they need "supplements" to help them cope. This is probably why there is so much burnout in this business and why so many girls come and go. As much as you can make good money, Shiloh told me there any many days when you just “blank,” and then days you don’t feel like coming into work.
I know my employer would not put up with me phoning in sick once per week, but I guess it happens quite often in this business; perhaps more so with the lower end studios. There are very few studios that provide a great environment with great staff. Most are at best mediocre environments with middle to lower end staff.
I’ld be intrigued to know just how many girls work full time(over 30 hours) in this business and what their average weekly earning are. (I know that will never be published) I’ve known some girls who work in the “business,” because they don’t have the capability to hold onto a real job. They are either on medication, or other substances or couldn’t be bothered to go to work 5 days a week for 40 hours.
It would be interesting to note how and why girls got into this business, and what happens to them when they leave. One SP told me she believed that 80 to 85% or girls who work in MP’s have done time working the streets. Personally, I think that number is very high. Perhaps 15-20 years ago as that may have been true as there were fewer parlours and more street action.
Anyhow, I don’t know if Shiloh will be returning. If she does, it will be on and off – bet on it. She does not drive and does not want to be at a studio that is not on a decent bus route. That’s why she prefers studios along the Stony Plain Road area. I’ll try to keep this post updated.
