I want to watch some spooky ones... seeing as it's October and all.

I'm a total chicken so something that's not completely gross would be good.
Last scary movies I liked were Skeleton Key and The Village.
Yeah yeah... not that scary.

Don't suggest SAW or Exorcist. You couldn't pay me to watch those!

Do you get the cable channel FX? There is a new horror TV show " American Horror Story". 3 eposides have been shown and its a horror fan delight.

Rather a suspence but creep ou a lot.
Recommend to see alone, definitely not with a man.

Six sense
Delightful horror movie of all times

If you are up for a bit of blood, intestine bits, and brain bits,
The house of thousand corps
Rob zombie's master piece, awesome B movie

Another awesome B movie is Zombie Land. cutest zombie movie ever.

But if you are looking for a movie to watch for Halloween, you gotta watch
Rocky Horror Picture Show.
My favorite of all times.

The Changeling with George C. Scott, it is a ghost story that falls more into the mystery/suspense Genre and was filmed here in Vancouver.

I am not a fan of the new Torture porn shit like Saw/Hostel and such, does not do a thing for me at all and I find it boring.

Yeah... the Changeling is nice and eerie.

A great storyline with strong characters makes any gore worth it.
Loved the Walking Dead and True Blood tv shows.
28 Days Later freaked me out... but in a good way.

I think I tried watching Rocky Horror Picture show as a kid but didn't get it at all.
Might try again-- though that time warp song is definitely in my annoying songs list.

I have always been a fan of the Zombie Genre movies myself, something about the overwhelming mass makes it more intense compared to the single serial killer style of horror.

Heather you should check out the U.K. Series Beign Human, it is dark and well done, but do not watch the U.S. version what ever you do, it is trash compared to the origional. The pilot caught my interest and they had a cast change once the series was picked up.

Same with me, none of the Night of the Living Dead stuff. :fear:

" Silence of the Lambs " is the kind of scary movie that works for me. The type that is built around psychology.

Then Bram Stroker's romance/horror " Dracula " that came out in the early 90's starring Winona Ryder.

Kevin Bacon is an awesome creep. Stir of Echoes, Hollow Man, The River Wild are good ones that do not have a lot of graphic violence.

The Blair witch project (one and two) is very creepy as well with not too much gore.

Most of M. Knight Shyamalan's stuff is also awesome. A couple are already mentioned here. Other good ones are Signs, Devil, The happening, etc.

First time I've ever seen those two words in one sentence... ;)

The Thing, the 1982 version. It's gooey but fantastic for giving you the creeps with lots of paranoia.

Repulsion and Rosemarie's Baby. Both by Polanski in the 60's, and both should do a good job of creeping you out without much graphic violence. (Repulsion has a bit in black and white, you'll survive... :p)

On June 8, 2008, days before the first few reviews for the film came online, M. Night Shyamalan had this to say to the New York Daily News: "We're making an excellent B movie, that's our goal".[9]

Some critics liked it because of this. In fact, Glenn Whipp said, "Tamping down the self-seriousness in favor of some horrific silliness, M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Happening' plays as a genuinely enjoyable B-movie for anyone inclined (or able) to see it that way".[10]

After The Ring came out I watched a number of horror flicks out of Asia.
One of my faves is the Korean film from 2002 called simply The Phone.
Has a good mixture of scary, mystery, and thriller all rolled into one and an horrific ending to cap it off.
Not sure if it's readily available for rent or download, but here's IMDB

I strongly recommend Trick 'r Treat. It's more about atmosphere and mood than it is about shocks but it'll throw a few of those at you as well :D It's essentially an anthology type story similar to Pulp Fiction in the way it plays with the timeline and the stories are somewhat intertwined. Anyone who's watched their share of anthology horror tales like Creepshow, Tales From the Crypt, Tales From the Darkside, etc will probably not be overly surprised by any of the twists but it's still great fun to watch none-the-less. The production design and cinematography are worth the viewing alone. You'll rarely see a horror movie that looks this good! In my opinion, the strongest storylines are the one that involves the children and the tale that features Brian Cox at the end.

I rented it when it was first finally released a couple of years back and then bought it on blu-ray last year. I'll probably be rewatching in a week or so :D and I can see myself watching it annually around this time of year.

I saw this and it was awesome, it had the same flair that Creepshow had with the multiple short horror stories.

Good recomendation Manmountain:thumb:

There was also Jeepers Creepers as wierd as it was I enjoyed it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0263488/
