predictions - kesler's injury means he will never again be the player he was.

Bieksa - last season was the best of his career. Downhill from there.

Luongo's mental state will continue to haunt him - he will play in the reg season the way he does in playoffs.

Sedins will start to tail off.

Burrows will have career lows.

Malhotra will be less than average - if he lasts the season.

Injuries will be a bigger issue this year.

They'll finish 10 -12 games over 500.

Yeah, well who predicted the playoff results correctly against a tide of Canuck fans abusing me for calling everything right?

i think kesler will be fine. problem is we're stuck with hodgson as the second line center. i don't think he's proven he can handle that role as of yet.
luongo will be under scrutiny all year. the sedins and burrows will be fine at least in the regular season. malholtra's eye will be a question. will he be as dominant in the face off circle?
the teams concerns will be scoring. a second line of hodgson, sturm and samuelson does nothing for me. very fragile. malholtra, hansen and higgins on the third doesn't scream goals either.
as well team toughness will be an issue. the top two lines are going to get ragdolled my the bigger teams. in general it's shaping up to be a very small team. one big guy on the fourth line is not enough.

so i agree that they will come back to the pack probably with a 98 point season finishing 3rd in the conference only because their division is so weak.

Come on guys, the regular season hasn't even started. Like Carey Price said in the previous pre-season, everyone should chill out...

I'd say last year's playoffs were the worst in entertainment value since pre-lockout.
The television ratings say otherwise. Record numbers in Canada and the US since the lockout. Knuckle dragging violent, non-Sedin friendly hockey sells and it's here to stay.

Lou was wearing his western conference champs hat tonight.
Only place it makes sense to wear it, i guess.

I like Red Light Luongo, but I have doubts he can backstop the team to a Cup as well. I think he'll be fine in the regular season most nites, but when we get to the playoffs he will be inconsistent and let in some bad goals. I doubt the team will win the Presidents Trophy again, but they should be a middle of the pack team in the conference and doubt they will have a playoff run like last season.

Luongo could end up as the highest ever career paid goalie to never win a vezina trophy. He isnt getting any younger and i dont see him winning a cup either.

Exactly. People seem to forget that Luongo just played his first game last night. But seriously, where's this Red Light Luongo crap coming from? He's a multiple time vezina finalist and was one of the Cancuks better players in the playoffs last year.

hmmm strange he has a good night against the Edmonton Coilers and nobody says a Fking word... Good on ya Roberto and Vancouver on a Solid win over a team that will be drafting close to first yet again ... maybe they can get a D man this time..
Most Canuck threads or posts on this site are when something negative happens.

In this case a 3-2 preseason road loss, against a strong team from last year.
With almost all our starters, playing in their first game.
Yes the sky is certainly falling.

as the OP , dont get me wrong.
i,m a die hard canucks fan , just not a Lou fan.
We had lots of injuries and other guys picked up thier games ,
Lou went the other way.
I hold him 99% responsible for the big choke in that last game.
He should be escorted out of towna nd put on a bus back to florida.....
I fukking hate the greasy w__ !!

Kind of too early to say how the season will go, but you may as well back him, cause with his contract, he's not going anywhere.

He became a very unpopular player here. His merchandise is not selling at all. He needs to step up since he is the highest paid player for the Canucks!

give it up BJ and your hockey knowledge lectures....i coached hockey for 15 yrs and know a choke artist when i see one , and we have the highest paid one on the canucks.
AV has no choice , he has to and had to play him because of the big paycheck .....he is not going anywhere and we are stuck with a under preforming choke artist for 4 more yrs. our only savior is a injury. and your only suggestion is to cheer for him.... you my friend are the one that knows jack shit.
