Just wondering how much "Steinbrenner" is in Aquilini's makeup?There was only one "Boss", for which we all s/b eternally grateful,as he would very publicly
meddle in Yankee affairs.
Aquilini keeps a lower profile but there's speculation as to how deep he was involved in certain decisions,i.e. hiring of Tortorella,Luongo's contract,the trading
of both Schneider&Luongo,etc.
Seems like the successful operations go by the idea of hiring good staff&letting them do their jobs.
*one of the talking heads said something interesting recently...since the Tortorella Tunnel Tirade, Calgary has the 8th best record in the league.
As the Tantrum went down mid-Jan,that's a fairly large sample.
Could Flames' fans have cause for optimism?

who had to come to the podium on crutches?I was very young but I remember cracks about the "Nucks drafting cripples.cruel.
*years after the fact,Jim Taylor speculated about what might have happened if the Canucks,not Buffalo, had won the spinning wheel spin
and drafted Gilbert Perrault&the Sabres got Dale Tallon.
Taylor opined that maybe Perrault would've had a so-so 10 yr career here&Tallon would've been a superstar in Buffalo.Something about the Left Coast,lol.
*Would it stretch reality to consider this scenario.....Canucks fire Tortorella,Leafs fire Carlyle, Carlyle ends up here?
