I wasn’t done looking for a new friend yet, so I made my way to Revive (a place I don't think I have been since The Franchise left… not like it was some principle or anything, it was just that… well, she wasn’t there anymore, so I found myself going to where she actually was…). I’m there to see a girl named Hope.
Inside the door, I’m greeted by a tiny (and I repeat for emphasis – TINY), adorable pixie, with straight, reddish blonde hair and big smile. She doesn’t say much right away, so I start…
Rabbit: “Ummm… I’m here to see Hope?”
Ms. Hope: “I’m Hope.”
Rabbit: “…wuh… wheh… where’s the rest of you?”
Ms. Hope: “I beg your pardon?”
Rabbit: “Oh, no. That sounded horrible. I just wasn’t expecting someone so…”
Ms. Hope: “Petite?”
Rabbit: “Honestly, I’ve made pellets bigger than you are.”
Ms. Hope:
Rabbit: “Errr…” *gulp*
Ms. Hope: “And how did I get so lucky to earn a visit from such a charmer?”
That’s a complicated question, unfortunately, and the answer is one I didn’t want to share, so I didn’t say anything. To her credit, she recognised that she’d hit a nerve, took mercy on me, and just showed me to a room (the swing room today). She left me briefly to clean up, came back, and we made a fresh start.
So, I told you Hope is tiny; and that she has straight, incandescent hair. She also has a very firm, athletic body, with modest (but lovely) torso bumps, and a little bit of ink scattered here and there. And she has an incredible posterior that one could happily bounce kibble off of for days. And she is very pretty (I don’t usually like to compare women, but when she smiles, I think she bears a resemblance to Kirsten Dunst, if that helps). I guess what I am saying is that she is very attractive… but she is also of a demographic that doesn’t usually cope well with nasty old rabbits.
And, I should also note that she is new to the commercial tickle game. Which rarely ever bodes well for a happy time for me (rabbits do much better with experienced handlers). In fact, when she let me know this, my mind went racing back to the last time I saw a rookie… and the catastrophe that became of it… and… and how [SheWhoMustNotBeNamed] isn’t here right now to fix it if things go sideways….
So now I’m all freaked out. And she’s pretty anxious (‘cause, really – as much as I don’t do well with rookies… rookies REALLY don’t do well with me). And I’m trying to make it be ok. And she’s... well, she's surprising good about it, all things considered. And it’s awkward. And it’s nervous. And it’s exhilarating as we stumble our way through the session (well, it’s exhilarating for me at least… probably more like “nauseating” for her, but she’s hiding that pretty well).
And it’s an awful lot fun. I gotta say… Hope is YUMMY.

And even when we are done the touchy stuff, Ms. Hope sticks with her mission like a trooper (right through the first and second knocks, no less). I mean, it isn’t snugglely or close or anything, but we do linger… and I find I enjoy spending the time with her, even it is a little awkward at times.
Shower; squeeze; and shove out the door, but not before a seemingly genuine invitation to return. Hope she means it. Hope she sticks around. Mostly, I like her, and just Hope I get to see her again.
Happy Thumping, All!
