There is a Seattle review board that is very active, and from wihich it is very easy to determine reputable providers. They consider many ads from the back pages of more than one local publication to result in the same proportion of sketchy dates as craigslist. I am sure that you can google "the review board", since I don't think we are allowed to post links. Reputable SPs mostly require refererences there to avoid contact with the wrong authorities, but may respond to polite emails from Canadians with alternate screening methods.
