I would pick the broadway granville area or broadway cambie area, as it is easy enough for alot of downtown or yaletown crowd as well as the rest of the people...plus easy parking means more on time clientele.

just my thoughts...with...you guessed it...my personal bias!

For those who work downtown : Downtown is the best place.. For those who do not, parking is rather inconvenient and it can get difficult to get downtown if it is opposite sides from their work to where they live..

For those who live/work in Coquitlam, Coquitlam is the best place.

Those who live or work in Richmond? Yup, Richmond.

For most who live or work in or near Vancouver but not right downtown, areas like Marpole, Kits, South Granville, Kerrisdale, etc are best, as it's much more convenient that having to go all the waY downtown, deal with traffic, finding parking... that all takes too much time.

For those who live on the North Shore? North Van is great...
But anyone not living or working on the South Shore? Good luck convincing them to brave the big bad bridge... they're not going.

Basically... I doubt there is one or even two best places, because for each area, there will automatically be those for who is convenient and those for who it is not. :) ;)

But If I had to answer anyway... this is what I would say:

- Close to downtown, but NOT right downtown,

- Right outside of downtown but still near a bridge for easy access and still be convenient to the downtown crowd,

- But Not a bridge or main street with lots of ongoing construction (= traffic).... (Good luck).

- An area with easy to find parking,

- and that is also easily accessible via public transit (ha good luck..lol)

- Being near an ATM is also a bonus point. Nothing kills the mood like having to drive around looking for an ATM to pay the sp. :p

- Being near a beer/wine or liquor store is also a good way to have more of your guests show up with some wine to share and subtly encouraging them by the power of suggestion ;)
And if they don't, well who cares because all you have to do is cross the street and get some yourself.

- NOT anywhere near a store like Purdy's or similar (if my theory with the liquor store getting you more alcoholic presents is proved to be accurate, the presence of a Purdy's is like shooting yourself in the foot. Especially if you REALLY like chocolate. No, no, no girl - give your head a shake.

- Close to a payphone (one that actually works...good luck) for those weirdos who *gasp* don't own a cell  (I'm kidding, actually I'm just envious)

- Shopper's drugmart or London drugs not too far - for those last minute mad dash when you realize you're out of condoms, or lube.. or floss. That should just be common sense for any woman over the age of about 12. There is surprisingly a lot of money to be spent at Shoppers. iT'S pretty amazing how easy it is too...

:D ;)
