About ten days ago, I called Gaya in East Kits (advertises as Blissful Oasis or Tantric Bliss, I forget which -- maybe both), and tried to make an appointment a couple of days in advance. I told her that I'm in the states and would like the certainty of a reservation. I also told her that since I was coming up for a concert, my two possible days were Sat. and Mon., with Sat. preferred.
She became vague and evasive about Sat., saying that it was an election day and she wasn't even sure where she would be. (It takes all day to vote?)
I asked if I should call closer to Sat., and she discouraged that. So I said that I'd call her later about Mon. when that day approached. We had a fairly long and very friendly conversation -- she seemed pretty interested in the concert.
Mon. morning (8 days ago) I called to set up an appointment for late that afternoon. Once again, she was weirdly vague, and said she wasn't sure of what she would be doing later that day. (Hey lady, are you in business, or what? Don't you welcome the opportunity to fill up your dance book?) I got the strong impression that I'd get nowhere with her that day, so I went and booked with Yaletown Maria instead.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Should I keep trying, or is she basically seeing only old clients? And is she worth the bother?
