Thank you, Canucks. Thank you for the season, for your tenacity. Thanks for your stature as a team. Thanks for the reason that you play.

We Vancouverites, we British Columbians salute you. We respect you, and we endeavour to make our way forward as you have.

Thank you for a year that has been both devastating, and inspiring. There's nothing wrong with striving: that's what we're all about.

But do us a favour, if you could: let's take it home next year!

I, for one, will always be a fan.

In your face
Emotions are running high in the wake of the loss and riot. I would suggest everyone keep the discussions civil today, we will be watching.

I'm proud of the team too. No-one gets to game 7 of the finals without great sacrifice, work and committment.
That's right. Only one team can win, after all. If it were the Olympics, they'd still have taken a medal just for getting that far. At this point, they are the runners up, 2nd place, that doesn't make them losers, imo.

Damn proud of the Canucks. Such an excellent season for VANCOUVER and kudos to the Boston Bruins for being the better team in the Stanley Cup Finals. Western Conference Champs and the second best team in the NHL. The resale value of Game 7 tickets was even higher than any major sporting event from the NFL Super Bowl to the Olympics. Only happens in Vancouver. :thumb:

Canucks Forever!! :) :)

Perfect!!! I agree, I've only been a die-hard fan for about 5 years but jesus this has been one hell of a roller coaster.. So much fun.

Thank you Canucks and all you die hard "NON-BANDWAGON JUMPING" peeps, its been a pleasure biting my nails and yelling at the screen with you.. :)
See you next season... Bring on the football!! :)

It's the fans like you who support bums like the Canucks who continue to take you to the dance and ditch you.

And you like being ditched.

Bitch
Given the volatility of the situation, I was wondering whether to post anything at all. I'm glad I did. The idiots last night are obviously represented on here as well.

While not trailing for ass-hats, it seems I found one anyways. Thanks, Ropey. It's always nice when someone hangs themselves from their own petard.

Good luck next year, Canucks! We'll still be here for you!

+1.

Someone, please, please, please bring the Cup back to Canada next year. It's our trophy, not the bloody Yanks!

I was a Canuck fan from 1994, untill yesterday. I was at Georgia and Hamilton watching the game like a true fan, and the lead up was great I loved the atmospher of closeness that it brought. But around 8:20 last night I learned of why I can't associate myself with the Fans of the Vancouver Canucks. I still love the team the heart they showed was great to watch but between 8:20 and 11pm last night the time in which I was unable to leave downtown cause the police had blocked the bridges and stopped skytrain service I witness'd the most dispicable display of humanity I've ever seen in my life. I can understand emotion, and being upset because I was in the same place, but that would never lead me to striking another human being, that would never lead me to killing someone, or smashing every-window in sight, flipping and burning cars and buildings, emotion is one thing that was another thing. That was people becomeing a part of a mob mentality rather than thinking for themselfs, I was there and I met some great girls who were terrified and agree'd to keep them safe. People went crazy, smashed every window, flipped cars and I not being able to leave because of police barricades turned my attention to the thing that keeps my mind off of my worries the most. Strange women, I had a great time ended up making it to 3rd base with one of the girls well I don't realy understand what the base's methphore means but I made out with her, touched everything and even got to have some of her drink off her nipple. So I had a great riot save for seeing all of those people maimed, and all of the distruction to a city I love so much, so I'm officaly resigning as a Canucks fan, I support my favortie players on the team still but the Fans of this city disgust me in so many ways.

That's not to say there wasn't any good in the crowd, there were plenty of good people trying to stop rioter's, at one point I saw a 250lb juice monkey right cross a 100lb girl to the face leaving her a bloody mess on granville street, only for 20 guys to immediatly overpower the guy and stomp him to a pulp while police watched for a short period knowing they couldn't harm the man but he deserved everything her got.
