)I agree with the last part of your post. Time will tell if raising rates will work for some SP's. However the amounts they get raised by is alot more than inflation. The latest inflation rate posted for Canada was about 2%. If an SP is charging 250/hr then too keep pace with inflation they should raise their prices by $5. An increase of $25 (not an dig at you Odette, just using round numbers..) is a raise of 10%. Not sure about you, but it's been a while since I had a raise of that size! lol
Having said all that, SP's are free to charge whatever they feel is just. If you don't like their prices, don't go see them. Simple. There are always other options out there.

exactly! tks was just wondering what some people would think or say!? especially the sp's, but kinda expected what has been said...

In any case, I'm sure sps expenses haven't decreased in the past year especially, economy or not.
Or as I read somewhere once "if 20 bucks is going to make that big a difference to you, keep it all and stay home." It is hard for me to get excited about a small insignificant increase when the difference is paying 250 or 270, don't you think? Or even more so, 120 vs 100. Really not the hobby for you if you say it wil break you personal bank to spend an extra 20 bucks.

In any case its a supply and demand thing, on both ends. If the lady in question is experiencing a greater demand for her services than she is able or willing to handle, then it makes sense to increase her rate up to whatever the market will bear. On the other hand if the demand is not there then it makes sense to reduce her rate until it reaches a value the market will accept, or the point where she considers it no longer worth it and retires.
Inflation will play a small role but the biggest factor will likely be how well the SPs career is doing at that point.
