Was it not at one time the only dogs allowed in the mall were Seeing Eye Dogs?

Now it would seem like no one cares about pets being allow in the malls.

Is this not a Health Hazzard or at least a Health Issue?

It would look as though some people are willing to share a table with Fido.

To some people their animals are their best friends, and rightly so. My cat Tager that has passed on, was my baby.

But back to your original point, there are such things as health codes that should be adhered to, I can see a service animal in a mall with no problem but come on a pack of pussies? no thanks lol:p

Why would dogs in a mall be a health hazard? Unless they take a dump somewhere and nobody cleans it up they aren't any dirtier than us walking around coughing, sneezing and carrying in god knows what on our shoes. In Europe it is common to see cats and dogs in stores and even restaurants. I think it makes it kind of homey, and they're usually a lot quieter and better behaved than the little monsters I see parents chasing around. Only problem I see is the usual small-dicks who think it's cool to have a pit bull or Rotty to intimidate others.

The whole point, CT and Paige, is they "could" very well take a dump or a piss somewhere (anywhere) and it may be when your eyes are averted. At least if kids "have an accident" it's in thier own clothes. Don't get me wrong I am a HUGE animal lover, but I wouldn't think of bringing my dogs to the mall.

It amuses me how people equate dogs with people. They're animals, and belong outside. Same with dogs.

allergies ... ppl with pet allergies won't appreciate a pet being in a mall when they're already all over the sidewalks, parks, etc...

if there were any rules against pets, it would be that.

I wonder if a dog owner would be offended if I brought a kid to the mall, let the kid shit on the floor, then poopie-scooped the turds into a plastic bag while they're tryin' to eat their food fair fries.

I know for a fact that my dog is cleaner than most children let loose to run around in malls, restaurants and grocery stores (touching everything).

I take my dog to the mall, home depot/rona/canadian tire and to the odd restaurant (you need to know the manager, call ahead to let them know you're bringing your dog) where they are happy to seat me and my well behaved pooch in a hidden corner.

Perfect examples of a well behaved dog:

Last Thanksgiving I had a couple friends for TG/Birthday dinner (it was BB's first birthday). I cooked a turkey and we all sat at the table... yes even the dog. She was extremely well behaved and didn't even try to get on the table... she also didn't scream, fidget, whine/complain about her food, get her dress dirty or have sticky hands.

You named your dog BareBack...cool.

BB short for Baby?

L O L... it's short for baby, which is her nick-name. After all, she is my spoiled baby.
Just a grammer tip...BB isn't really short for Baby. It's the same amount of syllables. :)

"A syllable (Ancient Greek: συλλαβή) is a unit of organization for a sequence of speech sounds. It is typically made up of a syllable nucleus (most often a vowel) with optional initial and final margins (typically, consonants).
Syllables are often considered the phonological "building blocks" of words. They can influence the rhythm of a language, its prosody, its poetic meter, its stress patterns, etc.
A word that consists of a single syllable (like English cat) is called a monosyllable (such a word is monosyllabic), while a word consisting of two syllables (like monkey) is called a disyllable (such a word is disyllabic). A word consisting of three syllables (such as indigent) is called a trisyllable (the adjective form is trisyllabic). A word consisting of more than three syllables (such as intelligence) is called a polysyllable (and could be described as polysyllabic), although this term is often used to describe words of two syllables or more." :)

Never heard of any kids with fleas or cases of kids who eat their own shit. (dogs do it)

This manager is risking his restaurant by allowing dogs to be wecomed into it.

Sounds like your not too keen on kids.

If you had the right to bring your small dog into a restaurant then why can't someone else bring in their cat or their pit bull, etc, etc. Once you open the door!

Actually Yorkies, poodles, bichons and others have hair... not fur. So does that mean you guys are going to start walking around naked? Times change... do a google search and you'll see that it's "acceptable" for dogs to have wardrobes.
Dog hair or fur it's all the same.

Dogs have three types of hair: soft downy undercoat that is especially abundant in northern breeds but exists in most breeds that developed in cool or cold climates; stiffer and often longer guard hairs that form a protective layer to protect undercoat and skin from harsh weather and cold water; and whiskers, those specialized hairs that grow in clumps on the face.

I've heard cases of kids with fleas and kids who eat their own shit. I must admit, however, that your point is valid, since those cleanliness issues are somewhat more prevelant amongst dogs ;)

There are bylaws restricting access of dogs to food related facilities because of health issues-- such as food fairs, restaurants, groceries. The one exception is for seeing eye dogs. Otherwise the only rules governing dogs in public areas are that the dogs be under the control of its owner-- usually with a leash. A mall, which is usually private property, can impose restrictions on access to animals if it so chooses but is not under any obligation to do so.

Many retailers now welcome and embrace access to pets.

What about the pet store in the mall?
It's in another store and not at the restaurant or food court where I want to eat. Having dogs in a mall is not as big an issue for me as having them in a restaurant or food court. That is a no no !!!!
