Owner of escort site accused in killing plot

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The owner of a nationwide online escort business that includes more than 1,900 escorts in Orange County, Calif., is facing murder-for-hire charges in Phoenix.

David Elms, 37, is being held in the Maricopa County jail in Phoenix on charges that he was trying to hire someone to kill a 32-year-old woman, the Phoenix Police Department said.

According to authorities, Elms also planned to have a 62-year-old man seriously injured as a possible cover-up to the murder-for-hire.

Elms is the owner-operator of TheEroticReview.com, a Hawthorne, Calif.-based Web site where potential clients can submit reviews and search reviews on escorts.

That guy has been in a lot of trouble before, but TER keeps chugging along.

I suspect the 1900 escorts figure is a misunderstanding by the reporter. It's more likely the number of Orange County escorts who've been reviewed on TER, or something like that.

Dave in Phoenix (aka DIPpy to some) is indeed a crashing bore. He used to post long reviews about how his Esalen massage technique warmed up the ladies so much that they melted in his arms and gave him better service than usual. He's also a bargain hunter.

However, he doesn't deserve being the target of a hitman.
