out of town info requests

Being new here I have spent some time familiarizing myself with the board. Very interesting.

My question is:

I noticed that there are a lot of requests from out of towners (presumably)who are most often new posters to the board asking for information on local talent. From what I can see this is all readily available with very little effort .

Are the majority of these posts from local SP's taking a popularity poll to see where they stand and/or positioning themselves to get some extra exposure by posting responses under their own name or another handle.?

Good question. I have no idea, I never thought of it. I just assumed it was because the rest of us regulars here know of most the local talent. You might be right though.

I can only respond for myself but I have posted as an out of towner (check my posts) and I will be in Vancouver this Wednesday.

I looked for info here, trying to lower my chances of disappointment and reducing my cost as I hobby this week.


I post on a regular basis in Toronto on TERB using the same handle.

I thank all for their helpful input and tips and will recipricate to all if they need info while in Toronto.
