Hey boys and girls...

As most of you know;

Today is the fireworks...Yep...Canada...Woo!

I saw beautiful colors, heard all the people cheering...and each loud bang with the very sensual explosion!

The thing is once upon a time...

I was in absolute love with a very creative man. His skin so smooth, his logic almost unrealistic, and his practical care and concern just too much to handle.

See the fairytale is once upon a time he took the time and energy to create my own 4th of July fireworks after the fact, because he had broken a promise to see them with me on the day.

Today, this year ( yrs later) I finally watched the fireworks...

Yep I didn't just sit in my apartment, alone shutting out the loud bangs of celebration alone as I did for years before.

I actually joined friends for the big event.

I am home now. Feeling empty and somehow full of regret and dissapointment. Upset about a situation that doesn't matter any longer...

He has found a wife, and I have accepted that even with all of his good qualities he is just not the "one"

The fireworks tonight were 1000 times better than the ones I witnessed from this boy in the past allthough some how I feel bitter and resentful.

I wonder how am I ever to look at fireworks the way I did before I met this jackass ;)

Have any of you girls ever felt like someone from your past has created a situation/memory that tattoos your heart?

It hard to handle this kind of sentimental value sometimes and oh it feels so damn good when you fill that void!

Aww honey!

I feel for you. Know this - the pain does fade. It sometimes takes years, and you probably will not ever completely forget it, but it will lose its sting.

Good for you for watching the fireworks - the more you watch them, the less they might remind you of him and bring in other memories, although he may stay in the back of your mind. One time, you may watch them and be shocked to realize the next day that you did not think of him at all as you watched them.

I find many things in life can leave me feeling empty and alone - the crowds and chaos of the fireworks are definitely one of these for me, if I let them be. There is something about watching crowds of people that make me feel alienated. If you want to wallow (oh I love it sometimes), do so. Have a cup of tea or wine and allow yourself some time. But don't let it overtake you.

I hope you feel better soon, hon.
xoxo

Good Morning.

wow...

Once again I vented with very personal info on here...
I really gotta stay away from the computer at times;)

Anyways thanks for the comments and the little pick me up pm's...Empathy is definately helpful!

I am damn happy I watched the fireworks, ok sure it brought me a little nostalgia...

When I woke up this morning, I thought to myself "I did it" I actually put my emotions aside for all of Canada's presentation...

and I plan to enjoy all the fireworks this year!!!

Its true that I will eventually learn not to feel that sadness of "once upon a time" when I watch fireworks!...

I mean when I think of this guy, I wish him nothing but the best. The fact is that we aren't meant for eachother is np...

I will always remember the time he took; so much effort to create a special moment for me...and for that I am greatful...

I know everything is absolutely ok!!!!

Any person who has been in love probably has felt similar feelings I have expressed in this post...

Its just silly to let our emotions get the best of us hey?!

Its better to have loved and lost, then to never be loved at all!

NICE...DARK...GODZILLA themed Fireworks last night! I loved the music!

If Tattoo is part of your vocab as a verb, and you have a tattoo, seek therapy!

If not, get over it! Grow up! You're over 18!:)

Make NEW fireworks memories

Go with friends, pick a spot on the beach to watch, get there early (you have to go with friends so you can leave your stuff for bathroom breaks :D :D ), wait and have fun, wait and watch, and afterwards, wait and watch the people swarm away and see what the beach looks like when they are gone. It is also cool to watch them all swarm away from a highrise window or balcony.

The fireworks is a great event, and this year apparently is the best year since there was a big reduction in drinking and drama (young guys coming to butt heads with other young guys, in other words).

If your post genuinely reflects your feelings (and I have no doubt it does), it would appear you're well on your way to healing. Your ability to present matters the way you do shows you're reconciling your thoughts and feelings with the rather harsh reality of the situation. No easy thing when the heart has been been truly engaged and denied.
