Now that the province has issued the opening up of the economy, massage parlours will be allowed to open again. They need a safety protocol but it looks that the massage places will reopen soon. How does everyone feel about returning?

I will, eventually. But it's wait and see for now. I'm also curious to see what shops won't be opening up again as some may have gone under due to financial constraints, ladies moving on etc.

I'll be curious about Mae's. I never liked it and only used it as a desperate last resort a couple of times.

But her model seemed to be high volume to make up for shitty service and few repeats. An outfit like that must be hurting.

It doesn't matter to me what the government does. In my mind I've set September as the earliest I will venture out and will reevaluate once September rolls around.

I had August in mind, but would reconsider if new cases stay low as distancing requirements ease. That my favourite SPs aren’t working makes this all easier.

I’m going to wait too. It’s impossible to avoid transmission if you’re going to be close enough to enjoy. I’ll wait until there have been no new cases for at least 4 weeks.

I think so far that Covid-19 has been contained to a fairly small group of people - travellers and those associated with them, long term home care occupants (and the staff there), etc. The latest group seem to have the workers coming back from an oil sands camp at Kearl Lake. The authorities have done a good job in controlling the outbreak. That said, I would rather go now. Maybe I am wrong but I think that the odds get worst as we head into winter. My fear is that they re-open the US border or we see a lot of travel from Ontario, Quebec and Alberta. I came back from the US in early March and the plane was full of coughing, hacking passengers. Everyone will have to make their own decision. Do what is best for yourself. Good luck to all.

I've been seeing quite a few articles on places that eased up restrictions only to have to shut it down again. I can tell the governments are impatient because of the costs involved but it appears things are being rushed.

I keep hearing about safety protocol and social distancing...I can't help but wonder why society is avoiding the elephant in the room.

Health. Health is alot more than hiding from viruses and waiting for vaccines.

Those at high risk for death or serious complications from Covid are in certain demographics. Sure, some people in the high risk category don't have a choice; age, for example.

But how many in the high risk category have a chance at decreasing their risk factor if they made an honest effort towards diet and lifestyle changes?

Btw...I wasn’t exactly dealt the best cards either. I do struggle with a bizarre combination of serious health issues. But changes made to my diet and lifestyle, and surgery, pulled me out of the high risk for death category... this was pre-covid19.

Knowing that Covid-19 is lurking out there gives me even more motivation to maintain my health as best I can. I like to focus on what is in my own internal locus of control.

My RMT sends me email updates every few days.
She said all appointments have been canceled this week and she’s taking it a week at a time and to encourage people to keep booking.

I also called a couple r and t joints around town to get the latest and someone actually answered the phone.
Couple said next week opening and others the girl who answered said they don’t know.

I haven't had a mani/pedi in two months. I will be the first in line when spas open.
You better calling them already or they will be booked up and you have to wait a lot longer for your turn
I called my place on the day they announced it in the radio in the morning to their return, so my name is on the list.
They won't be seeing the same amount of customers for a while and they have to do a lot of cleaning in between clients now.
So if the spa saw let's say 100 ppl a day, now it will be maybe 50.
Same with any spa or hairdressers

I find this ironic --- there are hundreds of people fighting for their life due to the corona virus, and some of them don't survive their fight,
but some of your biggest worries are not being able to get pedicures, manicures or massages.

On any given day, in any part of the world, for whatever reason there will always be people fighting for their lives.

Thanks, I called them and they said I am on the waiting list! They are not sure when they are opening, yet.

Hey Vanessa, you may not have noticed that this thread is about re-opening some businesses that were closed due to the corona virus.
(And it is in the "Covid-19" section.)
My comment has nothing to do with people dying all over the world for numerous different reasons.
