The recent furor over the STD question got me thinking. The prevalence of certain STD's in the general population is reported to be quite high. This would include herpes, various types of urethritis, and a couple others. Accepting that, then it would seem logical, given the nature of this hobby and the less cautious practices of many (bbbj, dfk, dining at the y and o, rimming) that there would be SOME infections passed on. Yet in my years of reading PERB I can never actually remember seeing someone say they contracted something from an SP. Since this seems unlikely am I right in assuming that if anyone does admit to catching anything from an SP it is censored off the board or is there another explanation I'm missing? Obviously an accusation would ruin a provider's business, but if it was certain where something was contracted I'd like to know who to stay away from. What's the point of a review board of it doesn't include warnings as well as recommendations? I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I really am curious about the etiquette and/or rules about such things.

You are probably the only person to ever consider what you're suggesting. My hat off to ya.

It's pretty easy to accuse somebody of transmitting an STD but harder to prove it. How do you force an SP to go get tested after you've been tested positive for an STD? If she tested positive, chances are she would treat it but not say a word, denying ever having tested positive. This assumption being you/client having no sexual contact with a woman/man for six months or so prior to meeting with the SP.

I don't think there is anything wrong with contacting each other about the possibility of infecting one another. I think it would be honorable for an SP to contact all of the clients she's been with to let them know of her status/outcome/treatment. Sure her business would suffer for a little while but it forces her to rethink some of her practices (bbbj, rimming, cim) and rework (no pun intented) herself back into society. That shows class.

Is it realistic? Probably not, as having contracted an STD labels you as undesirable, dirty, untouchable basically you're fucked. You're left feeling shame and forced to move to start over on a new page.

I would think that having some of the pics showing various results from unsafe sex, that more SPs would change their practices. Why hasn't it? Is there a way of knowing the person naked in front of you isn't carrying an STD and I don't know about it?

Its never going to happen where you get public postings on this or anyother board that accuse an SP of having an STD. The only way I could see it is if an SP herself came one here and announced that she had something and people need to get tested but even then her identity would need to be confirmed as genuine.

In general, I see the hobby trying to downplay the associated risks. Its seems that activities such as BBBJTC,CIM,DATY,DFK,etc are on the increase in the hobby. I know we can all go to the CDC website and see what the risks are for each of these activities but I feel people believe the risks are zero rather than admitting that minimal risks do exists.

I have some friends in this hobby who engage in risky behavious outside of the hobby.
For example:
-unprotected sex including the full menu with onenight stands met at the bar.
-same as above but with women from lavalife, adult friend finder, etc
-unprotected activity with street walkers from hightrack girls to crackwhore type
-unprotected activity while on vacation in places like mexico, thailand, china, etc with both SPs and regular women.

Its their choice (and bad decision) to participate in unprotected activities. But then they frequent the same SPs that the members of this board do and take part in activities like BBBJ,DATY, etc.

This is just food for thought. Id be more worried about herpes, chlamydia, hep than hiv.

I stick with one SP who is very careful about following safety guidelines and only sees a limited clientele. What scares me are the guys who never see the same girl twice, are always reviewing new girls, and rave about the BBBJ and DATY they get. All that does is make me want to steer clear of the girls in question.

Maybe she doesn't cuz the risk of a woman giving/getting something via oral intercourse is so low, it's almost off the chart. BJ's have a higher risk cuz germs survive/thrive in the throat, and then the back of the throat comes in contact with the penis head. Vulvas generally won't stretch far enough to come in contact with the back of the throat to catch or infect. Ergo a woman has almost nothing to fear, although it probably has happened to make the risk chart.

Even though one can still get herpes/the cold sore strain without an outbreak present on the giver, why do people continue to kiss on the lips?
