Don't know how many video game players are out here BUT I'm having a tough time choosing which one of these games I should buy for my Xbox, NBA Live 2005 with Carmello Anthony of the Denver Nuggets on the cover for $49.00 or ESPN NBA 2K5 with Ben Wallace of the 2003-2004 NBA Champions Detroit Pistons on their cover for $29.99. ESPN have better graphics on their games BUT EA sports do a great job on theirs too. I just bought NHL 2005 with Markus Naslund on the cover and recently bought Madden 2005 with Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens on their cover, and the gameplay is awesome, any advice on the 2 NBA games would be appreciated.

i heard they have A.I problems with the new lives series and the graphic isn't much improved over the 2004.
If you want high scoring dunkfest, by all means get 2005.
but if you like a more simulation type game then get the espn.

I think I'll save myself some $$$ and buy ESPN NBA 2K5. From all the reviews I've read and people I've talk to, ESPN games have better graphics and do a better job in presentation then the EA sports games. ESPN has over taken EA Sports in games as they are kicking EA Sports butts this year in sales of NBA 2K5, NFL 2K5, MLB 2K5 and NHL 2K5, I have a friend who works at EA Sports and he said people @ EA are getting a little worried now with ESPN being the #1 sports video game maker now.

I don't think ESPN is the numero uno sports game maker. They only make games for the xbox while EA makes games for all three consoles, the gba, and the PC. While I hate basketball and basketball games, I would go with the EA one, based on the fact more people will be playing it online than the espn one. Espn is selling many games this year, mostly due to the price drop when they heard the EA line was to be Live Enabled.

Oh, and Madden rocks.
