Rockin where do you get your information about investigating underage . It's immediate if she is asked to produce her ID she must do it or she will be prohibited to work and will become a child at risk and placed in a protection facility including youth detention if necessary . Please don't spout off about this particular thing PLEASE . men need to know if she's underage and they get caught with her it's a crime against a child and has serious life consequences if convicted of this crime . Don't kid yourself about the police they are checking the ones on their radar . I would not take any kind of risk thinking you know the laws as everyone knows Vancouver is a lawless place that picks and chooses at random who's going skate and who's going to burn . Don't be the guy that burns .
Four years of Criminal law studies at a University Jessica...so I speak from what I know...I don't randomly spout out information I have no clue about..I will post a link about entrapment by police...however in this particular case given the photos of this girl, and how young she looks someone visiting her might not have that as a defence. If you read the article I am submitting as a link you will see what I am talking about
Morale of the story is to be careful who you see...and NEVER see a girl who you strongly suspect, or have knowledge of, that is underage..that's a criminal offence and constitutes child prostitution and should be reported to the proper authorities. Jessica is right it will have life altering consequences, possibly jail time.

Be that as it may, police are allowed a fairly wide latitude in being able to operate undercover sting operations to catch criminals in the act, the reasoning for which is naturally law enforcement may need to operate by the same methods that criminal's use in order to stop them in the commission of a crime, or penetrate criminal organizations. The needs of the society for police to be able to apprehend criminals in the act are balanced against the needs of the individual such that there needs to be a fairly gross abuse before the courts will see that the system of justice is being brought into disrepute...basically child prostitution is harmful and society has allowed law enforcement a fairly wide latitude in being to catch and convict people guility in it's participation.
Legal definition of entrapment, Canada and US

So rarely does entrapment hold up as a defence against the commisson of a criminal offence, even when law enforcement is guilty of being involved in aiding or abetting the commission of that criminal offence.
But the police in the article were deliberate in portraying the girl in question as underage, it was mentioned several times, if they did the opposite and tried to represent her as of legal age, and she had a fake ID etc, then you may have a stronger case for entrapment than did the individual in story I submitted should it end up being a sting operation. That is the point I was trying to make, if police misrepresent the girl with age appropriate photos, confirm the girl is of legal age, and provide documentation to support this..then that is entrapment...deliberate deception by law enforcement to encourage the commission of a crime where none was intended.
