In light of what has happened in southeast Asia & south Asia, and while everyone has the destructive power of nature on their minds I thought I would post this link:

Please consider how to personally prepare for a natural disaster. You should plan to be on your own for 72~96 hours before any help arrives. Food, water, medical supplies, etc.
I was told when I lived in earthquake country to keep a pair of shoes, a flashlight & a crowbar under the bed. If a large earthquake comes while you are sleeping, glass windows can explode sending glass everywhere and you may need the crowbar to pry your bedroom door open if your house shifts on its foundation. Flashlight needs no explaination.
Also remember to keep in mind your pets for food & water. Toys also as they will be very stressed too.
Consider what would you do at work if something happened. Ask your employer what is their plan in this situation.
Putting together a packet of information is another good idea. Keeping your insurance agent's number, a copy of your policy, your mortgage information, banking information, and other critical information will make your recovery that much easier.
Seriously, it is really a good idea to look into this and prepare.
