I haven't actually done a poll in a while, so here's my excuse for a poll.

I used to have a Valentine One Radar detector way back in 96 to 98 but I sold it because it was too much trouble mounting and removing every time I stopped for an errand. Also, going across the border, they don't allow them in WA (according to the border guards) so I would always have to take it down before crossing... sometimes putting it back up while in WA, but being somewhat hesitant because they are/were allegedly not legal down there.

Ironically, since selling it, I have actually gotten LESS tickets... I have not been convicted of speeding in over 5 years and have a spotless driving abstract... I mainly drive Vancouver roads and know most of the "hot spots" and therefore have no need for a radar detector (or so I think)... another thing I found annoying was all the beeps and lights... it was distracting... I like to concentrate on the sounds of the car, the driving experience, paying attention to the hottie in my passenger seat, or listening to some good music... to do any sort of serious driving, u can't have all these distractions...

So, let me ask you... do YOU think that a radar detector has helped you avoid tickets in Vancouver?
