Nice of you to pony up an hourly wage as well as the beer and pizza.Last time I "helped" a person move I gave up a beautifull Saturday and used my truck/fuel as well as my physical effort and the douchebag paid back the favour with a single beer and Little Ceasars pizza...needless to say I wont help that guy again.

I rarely agree with anything you post and make an exception because of this post.

Owning an SUV that has a lot of space is great as well as being a curse. Seems every month I'm asked to help out with moving someone's shit some place.

In the summer a guy who is a friend of a relative asked me to help mid week with moving from a storage locker to his place. I said no, I'm working, how's about renting a van and doing it yourself? That was accepted until the day of the move when I got a call from my relative asking me to reconsider my decision. I said I am working and what's the problem with this friend renting a van?

It's been total silence ever since. I told the relative to stop being a friken child and if they felt so strongly about it they would give up a work day and rent the van themselves.

I don't mind helping close friends. Helped a buddy's mom move in the summer. There were probably twenty people, one guy brought his five ton, another had a cube van. It was a snap, then we had a BBQ afterwards.

Helped a best friend move and bought him a new stove for a housewarming present.

But "friend of a relative", forget it, not going there.
