There are ethical professionals out there. But many are lowlives who give them all a bad name, as in every field. Only go with one who's been referred to you by someone whom you trust. Anyone can make promises up front; it's another story as to who will deliver as promised & on time. This is especially crucial if a sale is at stake. So don't go shopping for one on the internet or ads. Would you find a doctor that way? The benefits of finding one only by referral are that someone you know has seen & approved their work, & that when they go to work for you they'll know they're being watched by the one who sent you to him.
As for being "coerced"....learn to take responsibility for your actions & get a backbone. Did he put a gun to your head & make you sign on the dotted line?
That being said, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience. So have I on my own transaction, & I'm a professional in the real estate field.
