Microcell/Fido bought out by Rogers.

Say it isn't so. I hope the City Fido plan I'm on isn't going to disintegrate. What an awesome plan and to stick it to Telus. Anybody have any additional info on this deal?

The most recent press release I can find is from a week ago. Since the deal still requires both shareholder and regulatory approval, it will be a long time before anything changes. I can't see anything changing with Fido's service at least until some time next year. If you're looking for alternative providers of local telephone service, Sprint is very aggressive in expanded their business in the Lower Mainland. Personally, I find Sprint's marketing tactics very annoying and I wouldn't use them myself.

First Rogers screwed up Cantell and now they want another change with Rogers?

Can't go back to Telus. Is there some ownership rule that prevents the Americans from coming in and competing?
