I'm not sure what your standard operating proceedure is but in case you haven't read the threads, some jack-ass called Mr. Jetz is making life miserable for a few of the touring gals lately. You may want to only book guys you've seen before or those with solid references.
You might also want to talk to Roksi or Alisa about this.

"Mr. Jetz" is like a "virus" in this forum. Asking for references from reputable SPs is the "anti-virus". It will protect the integrity of SPs and pooners alike here in Winnipeg.

I'm not nearly as gung ho about requiring references as many of the previous posters.

Lots of us pooners use several layers of anonymity to protect ourselves. For example, I have a dedicated pooning phone from 7-11. I never use a business or personal cell phone or land line for pooning related activities. I have two anonymous e-mail addresses that are dedicated to pooning; one is for ladies who already know me as Avery; the other is for ladies I don't want to know I'm Avery (nearly all first timers with me). I have two alter egos, Avery on the boards and another that I use almost exclusively to see ladies for the first time. Also, I usually wait a few weeks after seeing a lady before posting a review. All these measures are intended to make me difficult to trace. In a few cases, I let ladies know I'm Avery, but they're the exception, rather than the rule.

All the above could make it difficult for me to obtain references from the ladies. Besides, if a lady receives several requests from pooners for references, and she's relatively busy, how swift will she be in responding, if she responds at all?

Most women have a well developed sixth sense about these matters; much better than most men. I believe the ladies would be far more effective in screening out nuisances like Mr. Jetztv if they required booking via telephone, or at least confirmation via telephone of bookings made on line. A brief conversation with the pooner should be enough to make correct judgments nearly every time.

Good points Avery.
Another option some ladies have used is they will book you from your PERB handle. Someone like yourself with a great rep should have this option.
A couple of years ago I wanted to see a local lady who rarely accepted new clients and always needed a reference. I contacted her via PM and she agreed to see me based on my rep here. Just so some clown couldn't phone or email her claiming to be Jethro, she gave me a password. That way when I called her later to confirm, I gave her the password to confirm it was me and it was all good.

Even with reference check (most of the references never got back to me), this crap still happens.
I have learned my lesson.

I don't know her specific situation, but I find it very suspicious of these last minute cancellations. Are these appointments set up on the grounds of a reference, or on a pern handle? I can understand the difficulty in getting a response from a reference, but it shouldn't be too hard to confirm an identity on Perv via private message & by investigating our activities (posts, when we joined, etc).

In either case, I should should move to Vancouver or Toronto. See you soon Bobbi!

Maybe she should out the losers. Tell us who the serial cancelers are - PERB handles. What good would it do? It would inform all the ladies on here who the douche bags are and destroy their credibility IN PUBLIC. This is exactly what should happen. No more free passes for the cowards who double-book and cancel behind the scenes. They are destroying this for everyone. IMHO, they deserve a beat down. Since that can't happen, shut them OUT!

I've had local gals tell me similiar things over the years. Was told once that the cancel or worse yet no show no call rate was about 50% and first-timers could be even higher. With out of towners it seems some guys panic and book early so not to miss out minimally they should give reasonble notice.

Maybe we're hearing about it more now. I don't see travelling girls much, no particular reason just don't, regardless this is a bad rep to get generally and word spreads quickly.

There goes another fine lady. I never got the chance to meet because our times never matched up and I hate to book in advance if there is any chance that I may have to cancel. If I do have to cancel I try and give 24hrs notice. Yes sometimes it may be necessary because of work or family issue but it seems to be getting out of control. We need to start weaning the guys who are doing this or we will lose other fine ladies as well.

Maybe the ladies should start asking for a deposit from new clients at least then they would cover some of their costs. Not sure if it would work or not just my 2cents. How many ladies are we going to lose before this is over.

Other visiting ladies have voiced similar complaints to me over the last year, in private. However, poor Bobbi's experience seems to have been particularly bad.

Winnipeg pooners seem to have acquired a collective reputation for cancellations/no-shows.

By my count, there were seven highly-regarded visiting ladies this past week, possibly some kind of record. It might be an idea to canvas them and/or their agencies about their experience and problems, and even develop a private black list for irresponsible bookers.

As well, a "Seal of Approval" or "Preferred Client" designation for clients who book responsibly. Or a star rating system.
