American born Priscilla Chan is Harvard educated (met Zuckerberg at a frat party), recent grad from UCSF med school and fluent in english, spanish and cantonese. She's a smart independent woman and congrats to them both!

A Chinese women being fluent in Cantonese is hardly anything to brag about. I dont have a Chinese education but picked up the language at home and its as easy as hitting a barn door with a basketball to learn.

Also - and perhaps I'm easily impressed because I only speak English - I think it's pretty special when someone is fluent in two, three, or more languages.

Not saying that others don't, but it's the sort of thing where the Chinese parents can push it to the extreme. There's tons of pressure to save face and put on stupid appearances that wouldn't really matter as much in other cultures. I have a close friend who wanted to work in journalism when his mom wanted him to go into medicine because being a doctor is perceived as a high-class job. She hasn't spoken to him in close to four years because he decided not to follow her wishes.
You sound quite bitter and angry at us "white dudes". Hey when I was younger I only dated white girls. Gradually, I found myself drained of money. Years later , I met a lovely chinese woman whom I had the most meaningful trusting relationship with. She saved my life and straightened me out. Together we bought a house and we are quite happy. Bottom line is, there are gold diggers of every race. All I know is, my life was a mess before I met her. Oddly enough, alot of my buddies have chinese wives.
