Magnetic signs for vehicles

I have had 2 sets of magnetic signs for my cars now.
I switch vehicles and also do not always want my car to be covered in graphics, so prefer them to be removeable.

Problem is i came home today to find the one on the drivers side has blown off on the HWY somewhere.
Same thing happened to my last set.

So I am looking for advice on finding ones that are stronger magnetized.
Or what you do to keep yours on if you have the same type.

Thanks

You may want to get window suction cup mounted signs instead... or "permanent" decals if you are ok with having them on both your cars all the time... which it appears you are not... so back to the magnetic signs... all I can say is try to get thin ones... and make sure the leading edge is perfectly sealed and there is no chance of "wind" getting underneath the edge... otherwise it will fly off. I used to have to run magnetic numbers on my race car... after losing a few, I got sick of it so I went with tasteful decals.

I think the magnetization is pretty much standardized, but the magnetization gets weaker with time... so maybe there is a way to "recharge" it? Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Well magnets do lose strength over time due to heat or getting banged around or just entropy which scrambles all the tiny magnetic moments ...
If you have a really strong magnet you can just rub the decals over it to realign the magnetic moments and renew the magnet.
I am sure you can built an electromagnet with a bar of iron, some copper wire and a battery ... I know I built one before to f**k some guy's HD up muhahahahaha :D

Appreciate the ideas Mav.

Would you by chance have a link to those suction cup styles you mentioned?

Thanks again

GF :)

Thanks for that tip to n2s.

And remind me to never piss you off :D

hehe actually I had one mounted on my own HD before (disconnected of course). It was a Kill-switch to wipe my drive just in case. Boy was I paranoid ... must be because every piece of software on my old computer from the OS on down was hacked :D
I was contemplating an EM pulse bomb too to burn the hardware but never could get the design right.

I lose a few magnetic signs now and again, but I've found the biggest factor is dirt and moisture under them. If you keep the sign and the metal they are stuck to as clean as possible it helps a lot. The problem is worse in winter than summer. They also only come off at freeway speeds, so if possible they could be removed when you are on the highway.

Gulity as charged.

I was on the HWY heading home and since traffic was light did about 140 ish a lot of the way. :(

Would a magnetron work?
